Aubretia ‘Cascade Red’
Approx. 150 seeds.
A strong‑growing, mat‑forming perennial producing a carpet of vivid red blooms from early spring. Part of the reliable Cascade series, this variety stays low — around 10cm tall — but spreads generously, creating a dense, colourful groundcover that spills beautifully over walls, rockeries and border edges. Its bright single flowers are a magnet for early pollinators and bring a bold splash of colour just when gardens are waking up.
Aubretia thrives in well‑drained soil, including chalky or sandy ground, and is drought‑tolerant once established. Water during dry spells in the first season, but otherwise it’s wonderfully low‑maintenance. Sow thinly on the surface of moist compost, cover lightly, and plant out after the last frost. A dependable perennial for sunny spots and hardworking spring displays.
