Pea ‘Meteor’ is a superb dwarf variety, ideal for exposed plots and container growing thanks to its compact, sturdy habit. Being winter‑hardy, it stands up well to frost and can be sown in November to produce one of the earliest crops of the season, maturing from late April.
For the sweetest flavour, pick the pods young and cook them within 30 minutes of harvesting — this keeps the natural sugars intact before they begin to convert to starch.
