Passion Flower (Passiflora caerulea)
Approx. 20 seeds.
A spectacular climber with exotic, star‑shaped flowers in shades of blue, white and purple. Despite its tropical appearance, Passiflora caerulea is one of the hardiest passion flowers, thriving in much of the UK when given a warm, sheltered spot. Plants produce intricate blooms from midsummer onwards, followed by striking orange fruits that are ornamental only and not edible.
Passion flower is ideal for covering walls, fences, arches and pergolas, quickly creating a lush, architectural backdrop. Grow from seed with warmth in spring and early summer, then plant out once established. In mild areas it’s fully hardy; elsewhere it benefits from a sheltered microclimate or a little winter protection.
