Greek Oregano is widely considered the best oregano for flavour, with a strong, aromatic taste that’s essential in Mediterranean cooking. It’s the classic herb used in Greek sauces, grilled meats, fish dishes and marinades — a real kitchen staple for anyone who loves bold, savoury flavours.
Plants reach around 50–60cm tall, with dark green oval leaves that can be slightly fuzzy, growing in opposite pairs along stems that become woody with age. In summer, it sends up spiky flower stalks in shades of white, pink or purple, making it as attractive to bees as it is useful in the kitchen.
A hardy, reliable perennial that thrives in well‑drained soil and full sun, Greek Oregano is a brilliant addition to herb beds, pots and sunny borders.
