Malabar Spinach ‘Select Red’ is a striking, edible climbing vine with glossy leaves and deep red stems, bringing both productivity and ornamental value to the garden. Highly nutritious and fast‑growing, it can be harvested young as a tender baby leaf or allowed to mature for use just like regular spinach.
A tender perennial usually grown as an annual in the UK, it thrives in warmth and performs best under cover in a greenhouse, polytunnel or sunny conservatory. Once established, it produces generously through summer, making it a brilliant choice for vertical growing in small spaces.
