Lettuce ‘Montreal’ is a generous, good‑sized Romaine (Cos) with plenty of crunch and excellent flavour. Bred in Spain and spotted performing brilliantly in UK trials during the hot summer of 2022, it’s a variety that handles heat exceptionally well. We’ve grown it extensively through 2025 and experienced very little bolting, even in warm spells.
For best results, water the drill before sowing — lettuce seed is very fine and can easily be washed away with a heavy first watering. Sow every 2–3 weeks for a long, reliable harvest of crisp, flavour‑packed heads.
