Mustard Spinach ‘Komatsuna’ is a fast‑growing Japanese leafy green with tender, glossy leaves and a mild mustard‑spinach flavour that deepens as the plants mature. You can harvest individual leaves, cut whole seedlings for baby greens, or pick the young flower stems — all of which are delicious and ready in as little as a month from sowing.
It’s incredibly versatile in the kitchen, working beautifully raw in salads or lightly cooked in stir‑fries, soups and noodle dishes. A reliable all‑year‑round crop, it can be grown outdoors through spring, summer and autumn, or under cover in winter, even on a bright windowsill or under growlights, as long as plants stay frost‑free and receive plenty of light.
