Kohl Rabi, Purple Delicacy

Kohl Rabi ‘Purple Delicacy’ is a later and hardier variety than its green counterpart, producing smooth, deep‑purple bulbs with crisp white flesh. It’s best harvested young, when the texture is at its finest — juicy, crunchy and perfect for roasting, stir‑fries or slicing raw. Its striking colour and slightly alien appearance make it a real talking point in the veg patch.

A member of the brassica family, kohl rabi forms its swollen stem just above ground level, creating a vegetable with a texture similar to water chestnut and a flavour reminiscent of a mild, sweeter turnip. Easy to grow and quick to mature, it’s a brilliant crop for gardeners of all levels.
