Towering spikes of hollyhocks are a true cottage‑garden classic, and ‘Black Knight’ is one of the most dramatic varieties you can grow. Its strong, upright stems are studded with large, single open flowers in the deepest shades of near‑black, creating a striking contrast against the clump of large, round, mid‑green leaves at the base.
Perfect for the back of borders, this variety will rise to around 5ft — often more — adding height, structure and a bold splash of moody colour to summer displays.
