Herb Hop (Humulus lupulus)
Approx. 25 seeds
A vigorous, hardy perennial climber grown for its aromatic cones, ornamental foliage and traditional herbal uses. Herb Hop produces long, twining bines that can reach 5–6 metres in a single season, with deeply lobed leaves and papery green cones in late summer. These cones can be dried for herbal teas, sleep pillows, crafts or home‑brewing.
This long‑lived perennial can be sown in two natural windows: May–July, when warm conditions support fast germination and strong first‑year growth, or September–October, when seedlings establish gently before overwintering as small crowns. Avoid sowing during the height of summer if seedlings would be tiny in extreme heat. Thrives in full sun and fertile, moisture‑retentive but well‑drained soil.
