Geums are long‑loved favourites for herbaceous borders, and they also thrive in larger rock gardens, forming neat, dense mounds of fresh green foliage. ‘Mrs Bradshaw’ is a popular variety in garden centres — and now you can grow it from seed at home too.
This variety produces vibrant semi‑double red flowers from June to September, creating a striking contrast against its bright green leaves. For best results, plant in well‑drained soil and choose a cooler part of the garden, where the blooms will hold their colour beautifully.
Geums flower in their second year, and established plants benefit from being divided every two to three years to keep them vigorous and productive.
