Cyclamen ‘Neapolitanum’
Approx. 15 seeds.
Cyclamen ‘Neapolitanum’ is a soft‑pink form of Cyclamen hederifolium, producing delicate autumn flowers above beautifully patterned foliage. Sowing cyclamen from seed is surprisingly easy, but it’s not a job for the impatient gardener — germination is slow, and while many will flower in their first year, some take until year two to reach full bloom. Plants may self‑seed freely, and the foliage naturally dies back in summer.
Grow in humus‑rich soil in partial shade. Mulch annually with well‑rotted leaf mould to protect developing tubers from drying out in summer and from winter cold. Soak seeds for 8–12 hours before sowing on the surface and covering lightly. Germination requires absolute darkness and a consistent cool temperature in a greenhouse or cold frame.
