Cosmos sulphureus ‘Mandarin’

‘Mandarin’ is a vibrant sulphureus cosmos with rich orange petals that glow in summer light. Compact, bushy and full of energy, it produces masses of daisy‑like blooms that bring warmth and movement to borders, pots and wildlife‑friendly planting. The colour is bold without being harsh — a proper sunshine plant that keeps going even in heat and poor soil.
Fast to grow and wonderfully resilient, this variety thrives in full sun and flowers steadily from midsummer onwards. It’s excellent for filling gaps, brightening containers and attracting pollinators, with blooms that hold their colour well and continue right through the season.
The petals of Cosmos sulphureus are edible and add a bright, citrus‑like note to salads and summer dishes. They’re best picked fresh in the morning and scattered sparingly for colour and a gentle flavour.
