Climbing French Bean ‘Cosse Violette’
Standard pack: 75 seeds.
Produces beautiful deep‑purple pods that turn a rich dark green when cooked. The flavour is excellent — tender, smooth and slightly sweet — and plants crop generously over a long period whether grown in a greenhouse or out in the open.
As a climbing variety, it needs support just like runner beans, happily twining up canes, netting or a wigwam. Regular picking encourages even heavier harvests and keeps the plants productive well into late summer.
Like all French beans, it’s frost‑tender, so wait until the soil has warmed before sowing outdoors, or start under cover for an earlier crop. Warmth and steady watering will give you the best yields.
