‘Barlotta Lingua di Fuoco 2’ is far easier to grow than it is to pronounce, and one of the most striking climbing French beans you can add to the garden. The flat green pods are splashed with vivid red markings that look almost painted on — a colour that sadly disappears when cooked, but is a joy to admire on the plant. You can eat the pods fresh when young, use the semi‑mature beans as flageolets, or dry the fully mature seeds for winter use. Even the seeds themselves are beautifully patterned.
A vigorous climber, it grows in much the same way as runner beans and will happily scramble up canes, netting or a wigwam. Expect a generous crop through summer once the weather warms, as this family of beans is frost‑tender and should only be sown after all risk of frost has passed.

Standard pack: 45 seeds.
