Claytonia ‘Winter Miner’
Approx. 150 seeds.
Claytonia, also known as winter purslane or miner’s lettuce, is one of the best fresh greens for the colder months. Its mild, lamb’s‑lettuce‑like flavour is gentle when raw and takes on a spinach‑like character when cooked. Plants are undemanding, easy to grow and naturally suited to winter and early‑spring conditions, though they’ll grow all year round and often self‑seed. A brilliant choice for winter salads, sandwiches and quick sautés.
Sow direct and lightly cover; germination takes 10–14 days. Plants reach around 25cm tall and stay compact, thriving in sun or semi‑shade. Harvest from around seven weeks by picking leaves and stems as needed — Claytonia is wonderfully forgiving and keeps producing over a long season.
