Chicory ‘Rossa di Treviso Precoce’

Standard pack: approx. 75 seeds.

An excellent variety for bridging the late‑autumn gap and that early‑spring lull in the veg garden. It has outstanding weather resistance, making it ideal for autumn and early‑winter use. The long, pointed green leaves gradually turn a rich red as temperatures drop, giving you both beauty and flavour in colder months.

This variety can also be forced to produce pale, tender chicons. To force: lift mature roots, pot them up and cover completely to exclude all light. Darkness keeps the chicons sweet and mild, while any light exposure will turn them bitter. Harvest by slicing cleanly across the top of the root to keep the leaves neatly together.

A brilliant crop for winter interest and early‑season harvests, and a favourite among growers who enjoy something a little different in the kitchen.
