Cabbage, April

Cabbage ‘April’ is an early spring, pointed variety traditionally grown as a spring green. It forms compact heads on dwarf plants, making it ideal for smaller plots or intensive planting, as it can be sown in rows as close as 20cm apart. The tender leaves are perfect for steaming, shredding or using fresh in simple spring dishes.

Unlike many spring cabbages, ‘April’ is well known for its strong resistance to bolting, a common issue with autumn‑sown varieties. It can be sown and harvested twice a year, giving you a reliable, versatile crop that fits neatly into a year‑round growing plan.
