Brussel Sprouts, Long Island

Brussel Sprout ‘Long Island’ is an old heirloom, semi‑dwarf variety reaching around 60–70cm tall and producing stout stems lined with closely spaced, sweet sprouts. It’s a reliable, compact plant that fits well into smaller plots while still offering an abundant harvest.

Sprouts can be picked over a long period from November through to January, making it an excellent choice for winter cropping. The flavour is rich and sweet, especially after the first frosts, and the uniform spacing along the stem makes harvesting straightforward.
