A fragrant, citrus‑bright basil cherished in Southeast Asian cooking, especially Thai dishes. Lemon Basil brings a clean, revitalising lemon scent to seafood, soups, salads and stir‑fries, and it’s brilliant in drinks too — infuse it into lemonade or iced tea for a refreshing herbal twist. Plants form neat mounds of aromatic foliage and may produce flowers from July onwards; pinch these out to prolong harvesting.
This half‑hardy annual thrives in full sun or a warm greenhouse. Sow on the surface of moist compost and cover lightly; germination takes 14–21 days. Once established, plants reach around 40cm tall and are ready to harvest from around 10 weeks. A flavourful, easy herb for summer cooking and container growing.
