Craspedia globosa ‘Drumstick’ is an evergreen perennial often grown as an annual, forming a neat tuft of narrow, spear‑like silvery‑green leaves. In summer it sends up stiff, slender stems to around 60cm tall, each topped with a perfectly spherical, bright‑yellow flowerhead. These striking globes are brilliant for cutting and one of the very best flowers for drying — they hold their colour beautifully.
A sculptural, low‑maintenance plant, Craspedia adds structure and contrast to borders, meadows and cutting gardens. It thrives in full sun and well‑drained soil, and once established is wonderfully drought tolerant.
